Excellent service and warranty replacement

I was delighted with the level of service I received from Braun, including the hassle free nature of my warranty replacement. I would choose to buy from Braun over their competitors again for the piece of mind that if the product had any issues, Braun would take care of it. Good product, great service. Thanks

Yes, I recommend this product !

Braun BT5050 Review

Ok - i have never been one for beard trimmers. I had a Phillips one a while ago which was ok while it lasted...which was about only a few months until the battery started to die on me. Since then i have been back to using the trusty disposable Gilletes. However i recently had the chance to trail the Braun BT505 so it was a first step back towards using a trimmer. I had found that with razors i was unable to style and frankly it was a bit of a chore. Sometimes i would wake up and feel like "i cant be bothered". Here in comes the advantage of the trimmer - which is less than 5 mins and boom - beard is all tidy. The Braun BT5050 - comes in a smartly packaged box. The unit itself is a good size - easily fits in hand, and is sturdy. it comes with a beard trimming attachment - very nice and easy to use - as u turn a dial as to how much mil u want to keep on. A hair trimming attachment - which i probably wont use, but can see the benefit of having it handy, a brush to brush the head, a small oil bottle to keep the blades oiled and a small pouch to keep it all in. Oh and of course the charging wire The handbook with it is handy too - although its in a variety of languages, English is easy to find and its short. The booklet says a fully charged unit will last for around 50 mins which is great. if i trim every day it will still last a week. The performance of the trimmer is good - i used it on its lowest setting 1 mil and then without the trimmer - and found it trimmed effortlessly. Within 5 minutes i was done - as i don't do a trendy style - just straightforward trim all the beard. The unit was easy to clean too. Used the brush to brush off hairs and ran the unit under tap then popped it away int he pouch.Only time will tell if the battery life lives up to expectation - but so far the product is great. Ill put the razors away and keep using the trimmer. Highly recommended!! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

braun top of the class again

I was lucky enough to receive this product for free from Braun on the understanding I provide a feedback review I have used various beard/hair clippers in the past however the previous have all had clip on clip off attachment combs dependant on length, so I have been on the market for an all-in one beard trimmer for while. Firstly I really like the control wheel that provides easy to use settings dependant on the length of stubble you are after; I also like its handy lockable function so it doesn’t move whilst you are trimming your beard. I never have a close razor shave as my wife likes the rough and ready designer stubble look; we have both been very satisfied with the result! The trimmer comes already charged thus giving you the option to start shaving straight away; It comes with 2 attachments: one will shave anything from 1mm up to what ever stubble length you want, the other attachment would preference longer beards. I found the instructions pretty self-explanatory although I didn’t really bother much with them past the basic easy to use function of the trimmer The product also comes with a storage bag, charger and cleaning brush Overall; First shave in and I think it is fair to say I am satisfied with the result and I would recommended to anyone on who is the market for a new beard trimmer! Good quality but it takes a while to shave!

When i recived my free braun trimmer, First glance at the shaver oozes quality, but I think it takes far too long for a shave. Especially in those hard to reach areas of the neck, you have to go over and over the same patches to get an even shave. I especially like the dial settings instead of having lots of interchangeable heads, which make it easier for storage. Overall I think it might take a bit of getting used to, and I think if you keep on top of your beard it would be very easy to use. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

A great trimmer for even the most meticulously maintained beard

I recently received a Braun BT5050 beard trimmer for free in exchange for an honest review, the timing of which was perfect as my old trimmer was beginning to get a little long in the tooth, I generally trim rather than shave as I prefer to keep some stubble to save me the from the inevitable ribbing that would commence following being asked for ID down the pub.On first impression the packaging although basic looks pretty slick, the artwork uses a nice electric blue accent colour, a design cue that continues throughout the product serving to highlight any buttons or switches, the blue stands out nicely from the matte black background drawing attention to the trimmers main selling point the precision dial.Included in the box with the BT5050 is the precision comb with precision dial, a second comb for longer beards, the power/charging cable, a cleaning brush, travel pouch and lastly a small bottle of oil.Looking at the unit itself the front of the sleek black casing is only interrupted by some minimal silver branding along with a small LED charging indicator which also doubles as a low battery warning, on the back is a solitary power button accented in the signature electric blue. The BT5050 appears to be rather well built and has enough weight to it to suggest quality without being too heavy, there is also a soft rubberised texture to the back half helping to prevent it becoming slippery when used with wet or soapy hands. The trimmer itself feels very ergonomic with a nice curve which is not only comfortable in hand, but also ensures the blades are held at the correct angle. Slotting the precision comb onto the trimmer it locks into place with a reassuring "click"; at this point you can use the precision dial to select one of twenty length settings ranging from 1-10mm in half-millimeter increment;, your desired setting can then be locked in place to prevent any accidental changes either during or between uses. In contrast to this the long beard comb lacks the precision dial opting instead for far less gadgetry and a manual slider which is initiated by a simple button press, and disappointingly provides much less versatility with only five length settings between 10 and 20mm.In use the BT5050 is really rather quiet especially in comparison to my old trimmer and the blades made pretty light work of my rather coarse facial hair with no pulling or tugging which was surprising as my usual stubble was fast approaching full beard status at this point. After use you can either give the blades a quick clean with the included brush or alternatively, as the unit is fully washable, you can rinse under warm running water and leave to dry. On an 8 hour charge the dual nickel-metal hydride batteries will last around 50 minutes which even if used daily should last a full seven days between charges. The charging chord itself is of a coiled bungee style, akin to that of an old telephone which terminates at a 2-pin plug Braun has dubbed the SmartPlug; basically the SmartPlug allows you to take your trimmer abroad with you and not have to worry about the differing voltages of foreign power outlets which is fantastic news for those that travel regularly. The only problem with this is that if you aren't lucky enough to have a shaving socket in your bathroom at home, you will need a 3-pin adaptor to enable you to charge the trimmer using a standard UK socket, (no doubt you will probably have one or more of these languishing at the back of some rarely used draw), but it's something that I think is worth pointing out.Overall I've been very pleased with the Braun BT5050 and will be continuing to use it in place of my current beard trimmer. Great little trimmer

When I received the trimmer free from braun I was very impressed with the build quality and it felt nice to hold. After a few weeks of using the trimmer I found it to work well but with a few difficulties. As a trimmer for beards it was OK. You could trim your beard but I couldn't get the fine close parts with it and had to use a razor anyway. I did use it to have a full shave and take my beard off. The trimmer did OK but kept getting stuck so you have to cut slowly. This was also the case for cutting hair as it states it should be able to do and it can but it does stick so you have to go slowly and resources over areas more times.Overall the trimmer is good. Once you get the hang of how to use it [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Great for a daily beard trimm!

I received the BT5050 beard trimmer recently for free from Braun and I have to say I have been pretty impressed. The trimmer comes part charged so you can use it immediately which is always a bonus as there is nothing worse than having to charge something for hours when you want to see what it can do. The trimmer is easy to use with it's simple on/off button. In the box you will find two attachments: one does anything from 1mm up to whatever stubble length you want, the other would do longer beards. The instructions aren't that clear and I didn't bother much with them beyond the basics. The usual vague diagrams with words on separate pages. There is also a small oil bottle, basic storage bag, and cleaning brush supplied. The trimmer comes with a 2-pin wall socket adapter which is perfect for travelling.I used it to create some designer stubble and was quite satisfied with the result. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who's looking for a simple but effective beard trimmer at a reasonable price. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

First Impressions: Good but not great

I received the BT5050from Braun to review and was dead excited for it to arrive after having good experience of Braun products in the past.First impressions were good - although a little light the shaver felt chunky and well made and looked the business - I really liked the dial mechanism for changing the cutting blade - previous razors I've had have always had removable height clip-ons which have invariably broken over time.I had a fairly long beard and usually trim once a week. Razor charged it was time to test it out.The razor failed the first test as on shaving my neck on the no1 setting it cut my mole, this has never happened with a razor before and was a bit of a shock. I was disappointed as it means the new product could never fully replace my old one (which doesn't cut the mole).Neck done though I moved on to my face - I was initially unsure what height to use so went with no10 the longest - it did the job ok, I did feel that it took quite a few runs to get all of the hair trimmed - at first it felt a bit choppy. However I was pleased with the end result. What did pleasantly surprise me was that despite the blades looking pretty formidable (and after the mole incident) without any guard on it did a gentle job when used to shape my cheekbones and trimming my moustache around my lips.Overall I thought the razor did a good job, it does feel a bit cheap and underpowered but I will rate it 3/5 as it was ok. I will reserve full judgement until I have used it a few more times though. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Absolutely fantastic

Before receiving this product, I felt that it would have to be pretty special to beat the adjustable Wahl trimmer that I already had. I was perfectly happy with what I had and thought I wouldn't get much better. How wrong I was.So let's start with the packaging: clean and stylish with a nice feel and made me excited to bust it open and get at what was inside. Once I got inside, I was impressed with how the BT5050 felt. It has an ergonomic shape and soft-grip feel that I haven't seen on a beard trimmer before.Looking at the attachments, the short trimmer head has a dial which adjusts length by 0.5mm with each click between 1mm and 10mm and the long goes in 1mm increments between 10mm and 20mm.Deciding to go for a close trim, I dialled it down to 1mm and set to. Let me tell you, it's the best trim I've ever had. The blades cut through stubble like a hot knife through melted butter and only requires a couple of passes to get down to my desired length. (Nb. Having shaved 3 times now, I can happily confirm that this trimmer has not snagged even once)So in conclusion this is a brilliant product with everything you'd want in a trimmer, for a reasonable price which I would highly recommend to anyone.
