Braun BT3040

I think the new Braun BT3040 is a great little bit of kit. It allows complete control of your style with 39 precision length settings really does provide precise results. A real plus compared to other models is that it is fully washable which really helps to keep the machine in top condition. The only draw back compared to other models is that it is not automatic to change the length but this is not a real problem for me as I only really use one length most of the time. 60 minutes of trimming on a full charge is really good compared to other models. The blades are really sharp which is a massive bonus and does not pull unlike some machines I have used. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

The best Trimmer I've used for years

When I opened the parcel the packaging of the product looked smart, sleek and expensive looking. I couldn't wait to test it out!, The 39 precision length settings meant I could get my beard exactly the length I wanted it and provided precise and accurate results every time. The Gillette Razor that came free in the box was amazing , the flexball on the razor meant close contact without nicks and cuts. This Braun Trimmer has quickly become my everyday trimmer, no matter the length or style of the beard this trimmer provides fantastic results every time. Best beard trimmer I have used

I am replacing a battery power shaver from another maker with this one, and so will concentrate on the differences that make this the best beard trimmer I have used. First of all, it has an internal rechargeable battery which means that there is less cost of buying new batteries every few weeks. My old trimmer has a handful of fussy little combs which are hard to connect to the trimmer: this one has just two. One for hair and one for beards. Combined with the ten positions available on the trimmer you can control your hair or beard length in .5mm steps up to 20mm. The only negative about having 39 positions is deciding which one to use! I tend to find a length I am happy with and stick to it, but have the confidence to try more now I have this device. A nice touch was the inclusion of a razor in the pack which is perfect for finishing off the beard and was a welcome addition to the whole package. Overall, I love this trimmer and will be using it for a long time to come. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Brilliant in most areas

Pros 1. Charge is good - once I fully charged it, I've used it twice over a 7 day period. 2. Lightweight and easy to hold3. Easy to clean4. Gives a good clean trimCons1. No real instructions / images showing what the hair length will be assuming you set it from 1-20 (trim settings)2. Lack of instructions on how to add the plastic blade spacers. Should they be pushed down or left up where it's hidden from the trimming blades?3. In use, hair flies everywhere. It just sprays like a lawnmower so you spend longer cleaning afterwards4. Only supplied with razor plug. Maybe a 3-pin addition would be good as it's not restricted to bathroom use5. Gets warm after prolonged usage and thus sticks to skin a little. Not burning but as it gets warm it's harder to slide across face. Other than above, it's really good and gives a nice clean shave. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

So far so good

When I first grew a beard I didn't really have any idea how to look after it and briefly looked at buying a beard trimmer. None of them seemed to have great reviews so I never got round to it and ended up getting the barber to trim it. They used normal mains powered hair clippers (which I happen to have) and so I've just used those since... The only problem being there isn't much choice as there is a big step between hair cutting grade attachments. It's quite tricky to trim the moustache too!So when I got the chance to try the Braun Beard Trimmer I was very pleased and eager to try it. The comb lengths are measured in millimetres so it took a bit of guesswork as to what length I would want my beard to be after trimming. Ended up decided that the shorter comb was the one to go for and then started trimming, adjusting the trimmer down one click at a time until I got the length I wanted (7mm seemed good). This is the real beauty of this device, there is so much control over length and it is really easy to change at the click of a wheel. The other big advantage over the hair clippers, of course, is that this is wire free and much easier to handle. It't very quick to tweak the setting down and trim the moustache slightly shorter and then to whip the comb attachment off and trim around the edges. All in all, clean and quick to use and really pleased with this new gadget - can't really think of anything negative about my experience of using it so far. I guess compared with my old hair clippers, this device feels a little light and the combs may be a little fragile - but no problems yet, so I hope this will continue. Helping to defuzz my movember tache

This is pretty handy for when you've let the old face fungus get a bit out of hand. Having the ability to reduce the length of facial hair with this trimmer in various lengths makes getting rid of a beard or moustache so much easier - gone are the days of hacking half my face off trying to remove a beard. This trimmer makes life so much easier, and for those times when I decide I want to keep my beard it helps to be able to trim it to various lengths to keep it looking more Phil Mitchell than David Bellamy. A great beard trimmer, both for helping to remove facial hair completely and for keeping existing hair in check. I used it to help get rid of my movember tache, it was starting to annoy me looking like a 1980s footballer, so I trimmed it fairly short using the adjustable settings then whipped what was left off with a normal razor. In love with the Braun BT3040 Beard Trimmer!

Been using the Braun BT3040 shaver for a couple of weeks now and honestly I have fallen in love with it!The 39 settings that give you the amazing options ranging from a minuscule 0.5mm all the way to 20mm scaling up just half a millimetre per setting, leaves you with your perfect beard length. It's very easy to adapt to, use and clean which is ideal. With a shaver having the option of such precision and superb control, this truly is a beard wizards dream! All round great product and could not fault it in any way. 5* [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Braun BT3040

Got this nice coloured compact beard trimmer also capable of short hair clipping . The first time I used this I thought what a brilliant modern product which can all be washed under a running tap after use . Simple slide off the precision guides for ease of use . The performance is great and the picture is a before and after trimming my beard . Only thing is the charging time is quite long 8 hours for a full charge is a long time but other than that it's a great product a must have for men that have that defined hair and facial hair styles [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Braun BT3040 Beard Trimmer - Poor design and Disappointing

This is an honest review of the Braun BT3040 Beard Trimmer.Firstly, regarding the outer packaging - I like the way you can see the actual product before purchase through the clear plastic, however, I found I personally hate the styling of the product and so this would have put me off buying it.In my opinion the wheel on the front for adjusting different lengths looks absolutely terrible and the design is completely out of date and unappealing. I have much older electric trimmers and these have digital controls / automatic adjustment with back lit screens – the styling of this machine seems to be years behind them. The adjustable wheel on the front looks very nasty and cheap in my opinion. I also found the marketing of the 39 length settings very odd – having 39 length settings is not something I would be shouting about when it comes to marketing this product. Most people just want to quickly shave or trim their beards without fuss and having 39 different lengths sounds like unnecessary hassle and is not really a positive feature at all. I also think the comb attachments included are quite fragile and may not last. The best thing about this beard trimmer for me is that it’s fully washable. None of the other beard trimmers I own are washable and I think this is its biggest selling point foir me. Being able to wash the whole device makes it really great for cleaning and adds convenience in how you can use it - this is however it's only real advantage over other products available on the market.I found the fact that the trimmer comes with a free Gillette razor very weird and gimmicky – for me rather than being a positive marketing ploy, it actually highlights the weaknesses of the machine. The fact that this had to be included as an after thought tells me straightaway that the machine cannot produce a short shave. I guess a lot of people will be happy they get a free manual razor in the box rather than not getting one, but I feel it’s such an odd way of marketing this product.I also found it very strange that they went to the trouble of including a free manual shaver, yet didn’t bother to include an essential 3-pin UK adapter for charging the actual machine itself. There is also no charging stand included and no pouch to hold the accessories. They also state that you need to regularly oil the blades yet don’t even include a tiny bottle of oil.My other trimmers are able to get a closer better stubble effect than this product, which is the look I tend to go for, and so I would not recommend this product over those products. I also found this machine produced a much more uneven result compared to my other trimmers. I’m guessing that this machine may be better for people with longer beards. Overall this product was disappointing and seems to be miles behind other products available on the market - the styling of the product is atrocious in my opinion and years out of date.
