Yes, I recommend this product !
I have had 3 previous models and love them. My current one is in need of an upgrade soon as starting to loose its charge and speed hence not giving 5/5 but when new was fantastic. Will certainly stick with the brand.
I didn't even really know what an epilator was when this campain started so it was all completely new to me. I was impressed by the packaging. It was very clear and concise. The instructions weren't overly clear in parts and I did need to keep going back to the picture explaining what did what a fair bit. That could be because I'd never used one before though. The first use: ouch! Like I explained, I've never used an epilator before and understand it gets easier with each use. There were instructions as to how to make the experience as painless but, mainly as effective as possible. I have used all of the attachments without having a real clue what I was doing and, despite the pain, I was pleased with the results!
I was nervous at first about trying this epilator as I have never previously used one and heard that they can be quite painful. I made sure that I read the instructions fully as it comes with quite a few different heads to use on the epilator and was ready to give it a try. As it was my first time using it I decided to use it dry. I have to say it was really painful at first but as I got use to it I have to say it wasn't too bad. I still found it painful around the ankle and knee area but it was bare able. After I had finished my legs were hair free and I was really pleased with the end result. I did find that both of my legs where quite red and it does state in the instructions that this can happen but after a few hours this settled down. Next time I use it I will definitely try it in the shower to see if that eases the pain at all. I also tried the bikini trimmer that came with the set. I have to say I loved this product straight away! It removed the hair effortlessly and I was really pleased with the end result. It also comes with a handy bag to store all the accessories in. Overall I am really impressed with this product but I feel I may need to use it a few times before I am comfortable with the pain of using it.
My first experience with an epilator was borrowing my friend's at age 18. It was horribly painful and I had to drink a glass of wine before I could finish up on my legs. It was like getting an incredibly slow wax. It put me off epilators, but ten years later I thought it was time to give it another go.
This Braun epilator's best feature is that you can use it in the shower or bath. It means you're more relaxed and your pores are open which makes it a much nicer experience. It did take a good 25 minutes to do my legs, but that's probably to be expected.
The other unexpected bonus is the extra heads you get with it so you can use it in other areas. I particularly liked having the shaver head which I used to put some shape back into my layers and even to neaten up my husband's side burns and nape of his neck between hair cuts.
Great product and really nice look and design. Would definitely recommend. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I've used epilators before with varying degrees of success, some have worked, some haven't. Yes they do hurt a bit - well you are ripping your hairs out by the roots!!!The Braun Silk-épil 7 7-561 is good and I mean really good - it is so easy to use and it removed the hair quickly and efficiently. My legs were left smooth and pretty hair free. On finishing the legs were left a bit bumpy but that soon settled down and within a few hours. They stayed hair free for the best part of a week and I then used it again - this time on short hair and again it removed it all. Using it regularly over and over again it'll make the hairs weaker and weaker and they may eventually stop growing back. The epilator itself is cordless and when it is connected to charge up it does so quickly and efficiently. I'm really happy with the product and look forward to a summer of hair free legs.
My previous experience with epilators a few years previously had not been a good one - it felt like each hair was getting slowly plucked out in the most painful manner ever!
However, technology has progressed in leaps and bounds since those painful days, and I was therefore very excited to get this free epilator to try from Braun. The first thing that struck me was the range of interchangeable heads, with different attachments for sensitive areas, massage, and even a shaving attachment. So far I have only tried the massage and small area attachments, but I hope to try out the others soon!
As soon as I'd ripped open the box with excitement, I plugged the epilator in to charge. I was surprised that it charged so quickly, and feeling enthusiastic, I decided to start epilating my legs there and then. Well - that was a mistake! Even with the skin pulled taut, and breathing that would put a master of zen to shame, the pain was quite overwhelming. I immediately panicked and momentarily thought that epilating was probably just "not for me".
However, I'd seen in the instruction book that the epilator was completely waterproof, and could be used in the bath or shower. So I decided to give it another go - I made sure I was suitably wet, lathered up, and turned on the epilator (using the massage attachment) with trepidation. I did one swipe up my leg - and felt nothing. Did another - again, no pain. This was a revelation! I got out of the shower thinking that I must have missed a lot of hairs but on closer inspection, I was smooth as the proverbial baby's bottom.
Next time round in the shower, I worked up the courage to try my underarms, using the same methodology as for my legs - again, the pain was minimal, but the epilation was very effective. I used the small area attachment for this as it makes the experience significantly less intense.
So far, my regrowth has been minimal, and I imagine that will get even better as I begin to epilate more frequently. The epilator is very easy to detach and rinse, and comes with a handy brush for dusting off any pesky hairs which get stuck in the mechanism
My next task is to try out the very small area attachment on my face - wish me luck! I am very happy with this product overall, and am very pleased with the results I'm getting so far :) I can even wear a skirt or dress on a whim without having to remember whether I shaved my legs the day before or not! Thanks Braun! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Oh wow. Where do I start?! First of all, I already have an epilator. One that needs to be plugged into electrics and my bathroom has no sockets, plus it is really hard to clean as you can't pull it apart. That being said, I used it a couple of times and it's been collecting dust for a good few years now.I was thrilled to try the new Braun Silk-Épil. Not only is it cordless, it's waterproof and had lots of accessories. It really didn't disappoint. I can use it in the shower, which means cleaning it is super quick and easy and I won't have stray hairs all over my floors. The battery lasts long enough to epilate my legs, bikini area and armpits two times over and charging only takes a few hours. Now for the efficiency; top marks here. Pulls out not only the thick, course hairs, but also the white, fluffier ones. You do have to go over each area a few times but it's still a very quick process and since the hair is being pulled out by the root, not only will it take much longer for it to grow back, the hair also grows back softer and gradually will reduce in volume. For best results I would always recommend exfoliating the area thorougly before use and make sure the epilator is clean. Use it in the shower as the water opens up the pores and means the hairs will come out more easily. Personally, I apply tea tree oil after any form of hair removal as it's anti bacterial so will help you to avoid any bumps or ingrown hairs when the hair eventually grows back.As for pain levels; no issue here. Best way I can describe it is as if someone were holding an elastic band close to your skin and pulled two inches away and realeased. Legs are super easy, bikini area a little trickier but you get used to it really quickly. The bikini trimmer is super handy too for those of you that like a 'landing strip' but I also used it to trim my eyebrows.Make sure you moisturise well afterwards and if the area becomes red and irratated, like happened to me the first couple of times, anything cold will stop the slight itch that might come with it but you'd get it far worse from a wax as that not only irritates the hair follicle but the skin as well. Any redness and/or itch will go down within a couple of hours. All in all a fantastic device that any lady not only deserves but needs. Beauty is pain after all but with Braun Skil-Épil it's completely worth it. Highly recommend, 6 stars if I could.
As I was a complete newbie to epilation, I was super nervous when using this a couple of weeks back. As per my previous review I needn't have worried and I was really pleased with the immediate results. A couple of weeks have now passed and one of the biggest bonuses for me is that my underarms are much less red and irritated than when I was using a razor every day - the initial discomfort was well worth it! Another plus (over waxing) is that when I do see some regrowth, it's a really quick job to do a 'touch up'. I'd definitely say that the advice in the instruction booklet to charge the devidence after each use is well worth sticking to - I did notice a difference in speed having not charged it since my initial use.Overall I think I'm a convert - it's the best combination of convenience and long-lasting results I've found for hair removal.
I have to say I was a little nervous about the using the Braun Silk-épil 7 but I was pleasantly surprised. For many years I have only used razors on my legs and underarms as the last time I went for a wax on my legs it totally put me off.I was trying to figure out what option to use first - do I shave using the shaver head or do I go straight for the epilator? I decided to use both, my right leg the epilator and left leg the shaver.I was a little nervous and just decided to go for it, the first pass over and around the ankle area was little stinging but after a while you did not notice it and as I continued with the rest of my leg I felt nothing, it was great, however not every hair gets 'plucked' first time round so you do need to go over your legs a couple of times to catch the really fine hairs but if you do it over a couple of days it's not problem. As for the shaver attachment I really do like this especially if you are running short of time and can not for whatever reason get the razor and cream out as I have on many occasions fallen foul of the 'Oh I forgot to shave my legs this morning' syndrome.I am so going to be using this from now on.Next is to try and get the courage to use the other attachments on the 'sensitive areas' ie: my armpits..
