Braun Series 9 9290cc Shaver

This is a fantastic shaver, it gives a great, close shave with hardly any irritation on the skin. When this arrived I had not shaven for 6 days and I was sceptical that the shaver would glide through the growth but I was wrong! I did not have any bits of hair remaining, unlike other elective shavers I needed to use a wet shave to get the parts the shaver couldn't get. I also used this after 3 days growth and the results were the same... a smooth and impeccable shave! You can use it dry or wet which is great as I can use it in the shower when I'm in a rush!It comes with a self-cleaning mechanism, which means you don't have to do anything to clean it apart from putting it in the cleaner! Easy as that!I have used many electric shavers in the past, all different makes but this is the best one i have used. I would highly recommend this shaver to anyone who wants that smooth, close shave! Bravo Braun!! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Shave Heaven

Now where do i start? this is like the swiss army knife of the shaving world. So the shaver it does everything you could possibly want from a shaver, in the past i have always had the old skool wet razor shave and always avoided electric shavers as i thought i would never get a could shave with it (how wrong was i)So first the shaver it has numerous blades to get all of those different length hairs, the moving head can also be locked into place to get to all those niggley hard to reach places. Another good feature is that you have a little pop up blade which is ideal for sorting those sideburns out.Next is the cleaning dock station (self cleaning i'm actually amazed) that's right after your shave stick it in the dock and it will clean the shaver for you. It has various cleaning settings to get that deep clean and it also charges the shaver at the same time, what more could you want?Perfect crisp shave and i highly recommend this product, quick quick quick get them before they are all gone. Brains or Braun?

German engineering. Some of the best products come out of Germany and I think this one is pretty darn good too!I hadn't used an electric shaver since 2005. I was 18 and my experience with them wasn't great. It may have been my youthful skin, however, 10 years of manual razor shaving was the result as my last electric shaver burnt my face to bits (really badly) with shaver burn. I never looked at a electric shaver again. Then there was the Braun 9290 cc!The packaging was pretty nifty and the insides were pretty smart too. I particularly appreciated the carry case that comes with it to keep it clean and for travel purposes also. This included a tiny brush to get at the little nooks inside the shaver too pre-self cleansing. The shaver itself is chrome and black with a gold top. Very smart finish (check my pictures). There's a switch with clicks from dry to wet shave. So the main difference I can see is the dry shave setting allows the shavers head to become flexi to follow the contours of your face and jawline. The wet shave setting allows you to choose at different stages how the head adjusts. I used this shaver for the first time with quite long hair and shaving foam and it took ages. There was however no tug when in use. I also felt that the precision trimmer did most of the work to bring it down to a suitable length so then I could buzz with the dry shave setting instead. It work pretty well and with very minor irritation. Dry, wet, manual, electric you're always going to get some irritation but this was nothing a bit of moisturiser couldn't fix. The reason I've given a 4 star all in all was because of its ability to cope with longer hair. Although it says it has a 'hyper-lift&cut trimmer,' and a 'direct&cut trimmer ' and it makes "40,000 cross-cutting actions per second", it didn't feel like it was working. Was I pushing down to hard?? I don't know, but surely the hyperlift&cut trimmer should've solved this problem. The razor is quite loud too, easily wake a small child up if you were using one around the home. So I guess the fact that it's 100% water-proof is a fantastic thing, however, I'd need a mirror to see what I was doing. They recommend you replace the foil and cutter every 18 months which is quite decent. It also comes with a manufacturers 2-year warranty which is to be expected also. You also get a self-cleansing dock with coil cord. To me, at first the cleansing dock seemed a bit pointless as you tend to wash it under the tap each time you've finished with it. How wrong was I.... The self cleansing dock is amazing. Stylish black and very smart indeed. QuiteCompact and suitable to sit on your bedroom top with minimal space. In the box you get a insert of alcohol which you simply pop into the dock with ease and it does everything for you! From a sanitary perspective this is fab. One flaw I did find is the shaver needs to be dry before placing it on the dock For a cleaning cycle. If I'm off out I don't want to be waiting for it to dry so I can then dock it! Seems a bit of a pointless suggestion as it's going to be wet after you've swilled the top out. After my first experience of the self-cleansing tool I was very pleased. It was dry, lubricated and sanitized. A fan turns on inside the machine and keeps it dry for your next use. It was a pleasure to use. A light blinks on the shaver when it's time for a clean and it also knows what intensity of cleanliness it requires which is also very nifty. It also has blue bars on an LED screen which tells you how much shaving time you have left. The dock also tells you when it's time for a refill of the alcohol solution. When this shows it means it "good for 3 more cycles".The docks charging time is 1 hour for 50 minutes use. This to me suggests it doesn't need to be docked everytime, however, the instructions say dock it for a clean after every use.I was very pleased when using this product all-in-all. If you're a man who prefers to be clean shaven all the time (like me) than this is fab. If you love a good beard don't bother. One things for sure, I'm putting my manual razor on the shelf for now, because this works for me.Hope this review helps and Stay lucky! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Great product

This product is amazing, I have always used normal razors as I have been sceptical whether these electric razors work well enough. I am now a concert, the shaver cuts just as close as a normal razor, the handle is easy to hold and is comfortable. The wet and dry function is great too as sometimes I like to shave whilst I'm the shower depending on mood and this is nice and portable and can be used in either area. Cleaning the razor couldn't be easier you just simply put in the machine and press a button. The only small issue I had was the sideburns trimmer it cuts great but not as easy to clean as the other section I found hairs get stuck in it. Braun Series 9 9290cc

On first glance, this razor has a very clean and minimalist aesthetic. It fits well in your hand with all the grooves and buttons where you'd expect for a comfortable shave and feels pretty sturdy without being overly heavy. I've been using this for a few weeks now and have tried a few different things with it. It can handle short stubble really well with the foils, leaving you with a smooth result but begins to struggle after about 4/5days growth (which is to be expected). The razor does have a slide up section at the back that i ended up using for "pre-work" though so i wasn't left stranded after i missed the 3 day cut off. I've tried both a wet and dry shave and found that dry gave the best result but it handled both very well. The head pivots as you shave but can be locked in place which was really handy.A feature i really liked was the cleaning/charging station which was a handy way to clean the razor after use and speed up that process but you do need to replace the alcohol cleaning solution about every 3 weeks (as it evapourates) but you can still just use it as a charging dock if you cant be bothered with replacing the solution. There's also a socket for direct cable charging to cut out the dock all together if you want. Overall I'd rate this razor pretty highly. It is a tad louder than I'd expected but not deafeningly so, but the pros far out weight the cons. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Bzzzzzzzing for a Bzz

Throw away the Braun Series 7 and grab hold of the Braun Series 9. Both excellent products in their own right but the quality of the shave from the Series 9 is far superior to it's older sibling. I've used this on numerous different hair lengths both in and out the shower and in all measures doesi it provide a clean and close shave. Though admittedly I thought the shave was slightly better in the shower once the pores had opened up. It also gave a close shave all round, including over the jawline which I've previously found to be a little more challenging. Although you could use this without shaving cream I always took the approach of using it with as I've previously found my skin got irritated when I hadn't. I therefore can't comment on how good the shaver is on completely dry skin but on wet skin it performed very very well. Overall I thought the product was great and ticked all my boxes. Braun 9291cc

Great first impression, attractive eye catching packaging.Open the box for a sleek, stylish design, good sturdy robust feel and quality build.Easy to set up and maintain with the in built wash and dry system, although slightly concerned about the availability of the cleaning solution pods in the future and the unit itself is quite large for today's typical modern bathroom.Having suffered from skin irritation from electric shavers in the past, I initially opted for the wet shave option. Which provided a quick, close, comfortable shave and no irritation. However the dry shave was nearly as good but not as close as I would have expected. Not having to worry about manually cleaning is another big plus.I would certainly not have a problem recommending this shaver to friends and family. So much more superior than my Braun Series 3

I was excited to get this new shaver. My current shaver needed a new foil and I'd heard that Michael Gove had grown a beard, so it was definitely time to keep a close shave. When I received the shaver and plugged everything in (after spilling a bit of the cleaning fluid on myself like an idiot), I charged the shaver for my first shave. Once it was fully charged, I was expecting a gentle hum like the shaver I'd used for years. When I switched it on, it sounded so much louder and more powerful that I was a bit worried about putting it anywhere near my face. Also, as I'd spilled some of the cleaning liquid earlier, it flicked some around and covered me in a lemony scent. However, when I put the shaver to my face, the pivoting head and powerful blades was much more of a comfortable and smooth shave than I'd ever had before. Shaving takes around the same amount of time as before, but it's much closer. I don't have to apply so much pressure so I've found it is much kinder to my face.I was also sceptical about the cleaning and charging dock that comes with the shaver, as I'd spent so many years just popping the foil off and brushing the hair out, thinking that was adequate. The cleaning dock makes the whole process much quicker and to a higher degree of cleanliness than I couldn't do with a brush.Overall, I was a bit sceptical, but I've been won over. I thoroughly recommend this shaver. It's a huge leap up from previous shavers I've used and [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
