My buzzkit has arrived
It has been tested and I think that this product is very good
Virtually pain free but I'm guessing you have to persevere with this as it is slightly different to normal shaving
Overall though I do like this product [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I used my shaver today once I received it luckily my legs was little hairy so put it to use straight away. It was painless no pulling at hairs or little nicks, literally don't have to take notice what doing. You do have to keep going over same area to try get a good result, and obviously not as close shave as the normal razor I use but my legs actually feel smooth. Really pleased as I thought it might not give me the smoothness as it doesn't give a very close shave. Really light and compact to use. Think it'd be ideal as a girls first shaver also as its very nice and easy to use! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Out the box this little lady shaver looks pretty neat. Really nice size, light, easy features (on/off and legs/bikini) and a couple of head attachments.
I had a nice shot shower then prepped my legs with some moisturiser.
One stroke with the device with no attachments did the job of shortening the hair but my leg was far from smooth. I continued to do one of my legs with no attachment and it took some time to get my hair to a stage I was satisfied with.
For my other leg I used the optishave attachment but sadly didn't find and difference in the results!
When I removed the head to clean the hair off it I noticed that the foil cover of the blades had been very slightly damaged during my shave. Considering this was literally the first time I had used it I'm not impressed with the quality of the head. The rest of the device and the other attachments seem very sturdy though.
I found that I had no razor burn which is a big plus for me, but for the time it took to get the same results as my manual razor, I think I shall stick with manual for now [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
In my opinion this is a brilliant shaver.i suffer from terribly sensitive skin and have always had trouble with dry skin on my legs and certain products causing irritation, I received this shaver free from Braun to try and by gum!im currently 39 weeks pregnant and this week Scotland experienced a heat wave, so I had to dig out the shorts and only then realised I didn't actually know how long it had been since I shaved my legs .. Anyway!my shaver arrived in the midst of this crisis so I got to work on these fuzz covered legs! What a smooth clean and easy thing to use ! Normally if I shave my legs they go red and blotchy and I just have to make do but with the Braun lady shaver it was just smooth legs in an instant ! Really impressed [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Thank you bzzagent for sending me the new Braun lady shaver for free in order for me to review. I received the shaver today and gave it a quick whirl, used on my legs. Was painless, quick and easy and easily glides over skin. left my legs summer ready, a smooth close finish. Will be taking on holiday with me as it's the perfect size and so quick and easy to use. I will try the bikini trimmer and review this when I do so. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
As a conscious shopper, I've been trying to limit single-use plastics that end up in landfill from my lifestyle and razorblades fit right into this category. As a result, I've purchased an epilator and wax roll-on kit as alternatives, but my lazy-butt self just doesn't accept the level of effort involved and thinks not shaving at all is the easiest solution.
Enter the Braun Lady Shaver LS5100, which I received for free from Braun in exchange for an honest and unbiased review. On first glance, the unit is portable and of a good size - it fits comfortably in the hand. It is pretty and seems robust and comes with a couple of attachments I'd need to short a little case or bag for to make transportation a bit easier.
As I haven't maintained my leg hair for some time now, I was dubious that the Lady Shaver would rise to the challenge, but using it as instructed without the guard left for pleasing results. As a blonde, my hair is quite flyaway on my legs so the epilator usually misses a few bits, but the Lady Shaver seems to pick everything up well and without the prickling pain that the other devices seem to include as standard.
Thanks to the cordless nature of it, I can shave anywhere, but as you get a lot of hairs flying around I found that over the bath is the best bet, though I'd be happy doing it outside too to minimise even that level of effort. In about 5-10 minutes both legs were smooth and free of hair, which isn't too much to ask for such a little device.
It's a little noisy, though no noisier than any other device, but the reverb in my hand was absolutely fine, unlike my epilator which I worry could give me white finger someday.
I'm not going to lie, it's likely that the longevity of the results won't be as good as an epilator or waxer, but it's so quick and easy to use I won't mind going over my legs a few times.
In short, as an eco-conscious person I can safely say this device will allow me to meet my grooming needs without the harmful waste element. I actually am genuinely really happy with this product and think I'll be using it for the long term, even my lazy self can get on board with this level of effort. The device came with a couple of AA batteries too, which I will switch to rechargeable ones. I'm really happy with the level of smoothness of my legs, and I think my husband is too, though he insists he doesn't mind either way! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
After receiving my brain silk epic lady shaver for free I couldn't wait to try it out, in fact I had held off shaving as I usually do in the shower so I could use it as soon as it arrived.
For underarms and legs the silk epil gives a reasonably close finish which would be perfectly acceptable for a quick fix. The shaver is really easy to use, just select the bikini or leg setting and off you go! Clearly, an electric shaver is never going to give you as close a shave as a razor, but for day to day usage it is good value, portable and super easy to use.
For the bikini setting the silk epil unfortunately failed to hit the mark for me, despite religiously following the instructions to stretch my skin I was left with visible dark stubble.
In conclusion, the Braun silk epil is a fantastic addition to my hair removal war chest, but I'm not ready to throw away my razor just yet. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I've never been a huge fan of electric shavers but after receiving a free Braun Lady Shaver LS5100 to review I tried to keep an open mind.
Upon receiving the shaver, I found the packaging to be great - no wasted space and an attractive design. The pack consisted of the shaver, batteries, two easy glide attachments and a small cleaning brush.
Excitedly I set up my shaver & tried it out on dry, totally unprepared legs, only to find that no hair at all was removed. Colour me disappointed! However I don't give up that easily...."I will make this work!", I thought to myself.
Skip two days into the future - a little more hair growth and a nice long bath to soften the hairs and out came the shaver again. Legs first - softening the hair did the trick, this time my week's leg hair growth was removed after a few passes with the shaver. Although the shave isn't as close as with the wet shave I'm used to, the result this time wasn't too bad - no visible hairs and although there is slight stubble to be felt, it's not a huge amount.
Excited that the shaver was now working, I decided to brave the bikini area. All was going well until...youch, blood everywhere! The shaver was now working a little bit too well! The hair removal was great in the bikini area, but unfortunately the shape of the shaver is awkward and tough to use in this area, which resulted in injury.
Undeterred I moved onto my underarms. I do not recommend this at all - you have to apply quite a bit of pressure to get a close-ish shave, but underarms apparently aren't made for this - I had to give up without removing most of the hair as it was too painful on the sensitive skin.
Overall, I would use the shaver again for legs but not for the bikini or underarm area. It will be great for those times when a wet shave is inconvenient, however I highly recommend softening the hair in the bath or shower first. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I recieved this lady shaver and i was excited to test it out for free, im up for trying anything to minimalise effort when it comes to shaving my legs, coz lets face it all us ladys must find it far too time and energy serving but its a task that must be done especially with summer rearing its ugle head! I used this product on a day where i had been wearing trousers for a few days so like most women the need to shave was not top priority and my legs were rocking the almost yeti look, the shaver seemed to trim the hairs down however did not leave the smooth feel or look that had been advertised! A lot of the hair was still visable and i would not feel comfortable unleashing my legs on the public with what i was left with. I feel i will stick to conventional razors for legs and armpits. However this is perfect for the bikini region, you may need a conventional razor to neaten up the "edges" but over all not bad for keeping the bikini area tidy. Before and after picture for legs attached, from a distance your legs look smoother but the closer you get the more apparant the 5 oclock shadow is. I have to be honest, I wasn't very impressed with this product. I like a very clean shave and have always found a good quality disposable razor, or wax, to be effective. However I was interested to try an epilator and had heard really good feedback from people.
Before I opened the box I read through the information but was surprised to see that it didn't have anything about whether you should use the product with wet, damp or dry skin - whether shaving foam was necessary or not. It also didn't mention whether it was waterproof as I know some epilators are. A quick google gave me the info I needed, but had I been in a shop, I would have simply moved on to the next product.
The Braun LS5100 is well made, it feels good to hold(and doesn't slip!) and is easy to assemble and put batteries into (and conveniently, batteries were provided!). It's relatively quiet for this type of product too, much quieter than my electric toothbrush! It was quiet enough that nobody came up to the bathroom to ask what I was doing... which is common in my house if a new noise is heard!
I used the product exactly advised in the leaflet (which has very tiny writing!) but felt it didn't have quite as close a shave as it promised - i was left with "stubble" or prickly legs, despite repeating the process a few times. I'm sure with a few attempts it would have become smoother, however it was becoming really time consuming. Ordinarily it takes about 5 minutes to shave my legs completely, but with this product 15 minutes later I was still not satisfied.
I thought it was user error at first - the leaflet says to shave in a specific direction to the hair growth, so I tried in all imaginable directions just to be sure - but to no extra success.
I'm sure this product is great for some people, but it didn't give me the finish I expected and as such, I wouldn't recommend it I'm afraid! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
